Lady Patricia Thomas
Lady Patricia Thomas stands as the cherished First Lady of New Psalmist Baptist Church, adorning our congregation with grace and wisdom. As the beloved wife of our esteemed Bishop, their union has blossomed into over four decades of harmonious marital bliss.
A distinguished alumna of Morgan State University, Lady Thomas holds a bachelor’s degree in social work. Seamlessly merging her expertise in social work with her innate gift of encouragement, she serves as a source of upliftment for the saints of God. Despite her quiet and humble demeanor, when Lady Thomas speaks, it’s as if a fountain of wisdom flows forth. Her authenticity and truthfulness have earned her recognition, leading her to serve as a speaker for various women’s functions and first lady events throughout the city.
Beyond the church, Lady Thomas has left her mark in the literary realm, contributing to two impactful books: “Sister Strength: A Collection of Devotions for and from African American Women” and “Seeds of Strength: Ministers Wives Stories.” Her influence extends even to Bishop T.D. Jakes’ renowned cookbook, “Woman Thou Art Loosed Cookbook, Vol. I.”
A devoted family woman, Lady Thomas is the loving mother of three, grandmother to six, and a surrogate mother to many others. Her heart beats with a passion for family, reflected in her hobbies of cooking, decorating, and her genuine love for children. As the living embodiment of the Virtuous Woman, Lady Thomas is a blessing to New Psalmist, gracing us as our Leading Lady with humility, wisdom, and love.
